OOSHAMAWhen on their annual pilgrimage to Wiricuta, the sacred highland desert in Mexico, the Huichols stop and harvest oosha root. Once back in the village, they paint sacred symbols on each others faces using paste made from the root and twigs and are thus recognized and protected by the Gods. |
