HEALER BEING HEALED BY SHAMAN

Don Pedro, Huichol marakame (shaman), performs a healing for Don Tomas, gringo marakame. Don Pedro uses his muvieri (prayer arrows) to help him suck stone fragments and other foreign objects that cause illness from Don Tomas? body. He then spits them into Tatewari (Grandfather Fire) where they are neutralized and destroyed. The tradition of the ?spitting shaman? is common to many traditional cultures.
