WAKAN Summer Solstice Retreat
at Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS)

Ho, Relatives - Mark your calendars now for Wakan's Summer Solstice Retreat at IONS. We'll be in beautiful, rolling countryside (as those of you who were there for Equinox Retreat in March can attest), and our very own Juan Matchua (John Littleton) will be leading us through four wonderful sweat rounds at night. WAKAN SUMMER SOLSTICE RETREAT
Please Join Us: June 18, 1-10 p.m.

What: Now – in this time of great unrest and upheaval in the world – perhaps more than ever, we are called to celebrate and bear holy witness to the light which sustains us without and the light which sustains us within. Please join us in this sacred work and play as we:
• Create our personal Death and Life Arrows.
• Spend meditative alone-time with the Spirits of Nature.
• Dance and sing our medicine around Grandpa Fire.
• Dive deeply into a Dagara Earth Ritual of nurturing and acceptance.
• Sweat our prayers with the Stone People in the sacred Lodge.

Where: Institute of Noetic Sciences, 101 San Antonio Road, Petaluma
(just off Hwy. 101; see directions, below)

When: June 18 (Saturday); 1 – 10 p.m.

Bring: Two long sticks, yarn, scissors/knife, feathers and/or any other decorative ornaments (for death/life arrows)

Yellow votive or long-burning candle in glass container; yellow (or yellow-figured) bandana or scarf; piece of yellow or orange fruit OR piece(s) of candy (for Dagara ritual)

Towel (for sweat lodge – clothing optional)

Water bottle; backjack or beach chair (to sit in circle – optional); flashlight; simple finger food to share in breaking fast after the sweat

Drums, rattles and your open heart

Cost: $35 donation requested.

Directions to IONS:
- From south of Petaluma, take Highway 101 North to the first Petaluma exit. Go west, over the freeway and immediately get back on 101 heading South. From north of Petaluma, continue south on 101 past all Petaluma exits.
- Shortly after passing Petaluma, exit to the right on San Antonio Road. You will see a sign saying Institute of Noetic Sciences. Go left on the driveway leading to the Institute.
- Go all the way up the hill until you get to signs and go left towards the reception office.
- Go right just after passing the reception building and follow the driveway up the hill to the sweat lodge.
