www.TheMayaSeedArkProject.com -- Sustainability Means Survival
We are in a race against time. The Maya Seed Ark Project will ensure healthy native food for survival for future generations. The mission is to establish Maya Seed Arks in selected locations in the land of the Maya, on the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, where there is sustainability.
Each Maya Seed Ark will be a repository and genetic treasure trove of heirloom seeds of their region. The Maya Seed Ark Project is in alignment with enduring native principles of living in balance and the restoration of balance through spiritual practice and direct action to benefit seven generations in the future. The value of reciprocity expressed through seed exchange ensures regional bio-security, food and medicine.
The most important task now is creating a DVD film as an instructional aide especially for farmers, and the public in Spanish, regarding the necessity of preserving heirloom seeds, and techniques appropriate to the bio-region. Presently, even the most remote Maya communities are under attack by genetically modified seeds, and food products, which have been silently introduced without them knowing the risks.
The time to act is now.
We need your investment and help with the Maya Seed Ark Project for the future food security of the sustainable areas left. Please extend your collaboration in this necessary project to protect the food supply for generations in the future.

http://www.peyotepeople.com/ -- Huichol Indian Folk Art and Artifacts
Deep in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Western Mexico live the Huichol Indians. Very little is known about the exact origins of the Huichol, but today they are clinging to a set of customs and beliefs that make them one of the best preserved Pre-Columbian tribes in the Western Hemisphere.
Peyote People is a fair trade co-operative based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that provides most of the carvings to our artists as well as new iridescent glass beads that are imported exclusively by us into Mexico for our artists to use in their art. We have been recognized by the Huichol Indian Traditional Government of San Andres Cohamaita for not only promoting their artwork but also for our commitment to the preservation of their customs and traditions through what we call CULTURAL AUTHENTICITY...

Ecopsychology
What
Is Ecopsychology?
To quote Claudia Robinson,"Ecopsychology is an emerging, multidisciplinary
field, where psychology and ecology are used to examine the psychological
and spiritual roots of the environmental crisis. Ecopsychologists view humanity
as interdependent with all other life forms, including Earth itself. By reawakening
this consciousness, we act instinctively to care for the Earth and all life."
The
Ecopsychology mailing list
Moderated by Claudia Robinson,
the ecopsychology mailing list is for sharing artful, spirited and scientific
discussion on a wide range of topics related to this newly emergent field.
This is an opportunity to meet with peers for personal and professional development
through our inherent shared affinity with nature. An in-depth exploration of
our relationship to each other and to Earth is encouraged, as well as a discussion
of how to develop ecopsychology into a thriving profession in education and
elsewhere.

Wakanistas:
Nancy Binzen Presents:
-- Stories From the Heart
Dear Wakanistas -
As a few of you know, I've been working on a new business, much of which is online, for months (and months…and months…). Finally - hurrah! - it's ready! Below is the "official" announcement I'm sending out to a wider group of folks later this morning. I'd be extremely grateful if you'd pass it on with your own note to everyone on your email list. (The Soul Stories Workbook - at the site - includes personasl stories by several Wakan folks, including tomas, and our own Phil Sheridan will be telling the tale of Sleeping Beauty.) Love, Nancy
I’m excited to share with you the launch of Stories from the Heart.
The Universe is made of stories not atoms, said the poet Muriel Rukeyser. At Stories from the Heart we’ve created a variety of tools to help people find the power and place of stories in their lives.
There are stories we believe because we were told them…or lived them…or because others we trust see us that way. Stories can give us confidence, or diminish us. They can connect us, foster community, teach and heal.
It’s up to each of us to determine the stories we want to live – and pass on.
“If you don’t know the trees, you may be lost in the forest,” said an old Siberian elder, “but if you don’t know the stories, you may be lost in life.”
With great appreciation, and may you never be lost,
Nancy
